An Ibadan-based socio-cultural group, Egbe Borokini tile Ibadan has felicitated with an Ibadan high chief, Rashidi Ladoja, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Ladoja, a former Governor of the state and one of Ibadan’s beaded Kings, clocked 80 today.
In a statement signed by the group’s President, Borokini Olatunji Lawal, and made available to the press on Wednesday, he described Ladoja as a man who has dedicated his time and resources to the growth of Ibadan land.
“The 80th birthday of Baba Ladoja is an opportunity to celebrate the selfless commitment he has made to the growth of our city, one that is perhaps unrivaled by any other.
“Historically, Ibadan is considered the city of warriors, but there is no doubt that among the warriors of Ibadanland today, Ladoja is the most influential in terms of how he defends and protects the city, politically, socially, and traditionally.
“On the occasion of his birthday, Egbe Borokini of Ibadanland prays that he lives long and rises to the throne of his forefathers in his lifetime,” the statement read.
