The Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), MR Olalekan Ayorinde has implored residents of the state not to be swept away by the trend of political permutations going on in the state , attributing it to shameful and selfish act by greedy and self centered politicians.
Ayorinde made this statement in a press release made available to newsmen in Ibadan the Oyo state capital over the week.
He noted that recent trend which became the order after the presidential elections clearly shows the extent self centered politicians can go in order to secure the people’s mandate which will be used against the people.
Furthermore he cited an instance where a big name in the state politics once openly declared he was too big in the race to drop his agenda to support the candidate of another party but all of a sudden after his demands was met had decided to swallow his pride and gave up his own ambition to support the initially bullied candidate.
He said he is amazed at the attitude of this conventional politicians in their quest for power particularly at this crucial time when the governorship election is nearly less than a week .
He pleaded with the residents of Oyo State to be sensitive to the trends going on, adding that new cabals are emanating to serve majorly their individual selfish interests at the expense of the masses.
Ayorinde while castigating the attitude of this politicians , asserted that he remains the best candidate for the position of the governor of Oyo State putting into consideration his antecedents, his plans and love for the good people of Oyo State. Adding that till date he is neither being sponsored nor would he be propelled by any godfather on how to administer the state .
He however implored residents not to be fooled by this greedy politicians, see the forthcoming election as an opportunity to chart a course in the right direction, avoid vote selling and vote him the next governor of Oyo State.
