After a report by OYOINSIGHT.COM on how Governor Seyi Makinde left the Oyo zone out of the state in the list of places where isolation centers had been fully set up, the governor has announced that the state government will set up an isolation center in the ancient town.
The decision of the governor to set up an isolation center was made after the Oyo Global Forum, OGF, also wrote a letter to the governor to demand for the setting up of an isolation center in the zone.
The governor, who is also the head of the COVID-19 taskforce in the state, announced the decision to set up an isolation center in Oyo during his press briefing on Saturday evening.
He said, “I have heard emissaries from Oyo, they said they were left out of the isolation centers.
“And, I had already told them, we will evaluate the medical facilities at Oyo, we may see one that is suitable to be upgraded into an isolation center.”
He added, “But, quite frankly, we are not locating isolation centers based on politics, they are been allocated based on need and based on the fact that some of these facilities would be used later on to cater for other health challenges.”
