Deji Ola, Friends Clean Up Ibadan

Last week, Ibadan-based activist, Comrade Deji Ola, alongside some friends, engaged in a clean-up exercise at major areas in Ibadan North East and South East Local Government.

The exercise which stopped at Government house, Agodi was joined by the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Barrister Adeleke.

The Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their contribution to the creation of an environmental friendly atmosphere in the state.

The Commissioner also provided logistic support, such as compactor, scoop, broom, waste bags and other materials used during the exercise .

A teacher, Ogbeni Yaya encouraged the team to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the state, especially their immediate community .

Speaking during the exercise, Comrade Deji Ola emphasised the importance of sanitation in our community noting that ‘cleanliness is next to Godliness’ .

He revealed that the group contributes to the development of the community through other projects like cloth the needy; pallaitives to the needy; one pen, one book project among others.
