The chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof. Adeolu Akande, has commiserated with the family of Chief Theophilus Akinyele, who died yesterday.
Akinyele, who was the Bobajiro of Ibadanland, died at 88.
Akande, in a condolence message, said the people of Ibadan and Oyo State would sorely miss the late elder statesman.
“Ibadan,Oyo State and Nigeria at large, have lost yet another reservoir of knowledge. As a permanent secretary in the ministries of agriculture and finance in the old western region, the records are there for us all to read. As a political science student and political scientist, his books and intervention write-up are still useful.
“While I commiserate with the family of the departed elder, I will like urge the government to immortalize late Pa Akinyele, who lived his life for the service of mankind” the statement concluded.
