BREAKING: Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kidnap Ibarapa Monarch’s Wife, Daughter

Amidst coronavirus pandemic, the wife and daughter of Oba Olusanjo Ojo, Baba-Aso Of Igbole town of Igboora, headquarters of Ibarapa Central local government of Oyo State, have been kidnapped.

The monarch‘s wife, Olori Funbi Ojo and the daughter were returning from the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, OYSCATECH, Igboora, where the woman is the matron of the college health facility.

Not long ago, popular alternative medicine practitioner, Alhaji Yusuf Oko-Oloyun, was murdered in Igboora, a neighboring to Igbole.

Multiple sources told OYOINSIGHT.COM that the duo were kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen around Keji Abra farm, Igbole area of Igboora around 8:15 pm last night.

The driver of the bullet-ridden vehicle, a young man who is said to be a son of the monarch, was however lucky as he escaped being kidnapped.

Though no contact has been made to the family by the kidnappers, OYOINSIGHT.COM learnt that vigilante groups within and around the town have started combing bushes to rescue the victims.

Another source who confirmed the incident said they were abducted close to the palace. The source added that the woman and her daughter, a trained nurse and also a serving corp member were coming from palace to their house when they were kidnapped.

“There is a case of kidnapping in Igboora yesterday around 8:15pm which involved the wife of the Baba Aso of Igbole. The Olori also doubles as the matron of OYSCATECH health centre,” the source added.

Confirming the incident, the police public relations officer, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, told OYOINSIGHT.COM that efforts have been intensified by men of the Nigeria Police Force to rescue the kidnapped women from their abductors.
