BREAKING: Senator Lekan Balogun’s Younger Brother Defeats Ajimobi

Dr Mohammed Kola Balogun, the last child of Oba Lekan Balogun’s mother, has defeated Governor Abiola Ajimobi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  for Oyo South senatorial district in the declared and yet-to-be declared results across the 9 local government areas in the district, OYO INSIGHT had learnt. 

However, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is yet to make official pronouncement.

Lekan Balogun, his eldest brother, represented Oyo Central between 1999 and 2003 under the Alliance for Democracy, AD.

With results from 8 out of the 9 local government areas, this newspaper learnt, Balogun is leading 12, 809 margin.

Result from Ibadan North East local government area which is being expected cannot rescue the governor as he leads with a 8 votes margin.

Kola Balogun, who was a governorship candidate under the African Democratic Congress, APC, before opting for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, served as commissioner for commerce, and later works under the administration of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
