Less than 24 hours after former governor Rashidi Ladoja defected from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin has appointed Bashiru Lawal as the director general of his gubernatorial campaign.
Lawal, an architect from Saki West local government, was state chairman of Accord for six years.
He is one of those who rejected ZLP tickets, specifically for Oyo North Senatorial district.

ARCH. BASHIRU LAWAL APPOINTED SOLANCO DIRECTOR GENERAL
Oyo State ADC governorship candidate, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), has ratified the appointment of Architect Bashiru Lawal as Director General of the Senator Olufemi Lanlehin Campaign Organization (SOLANCO).
Architect Lawal, a veteran politician, State Chairman of Accord for nearly six years, and a staunch loyalist of Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, is expected to coordinate the governorship campaign activities of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN) under the banner of the ADC.
Architect Lawal, who had his primary and secondary education in Ghana, and tertiary education at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, was a three time elected Chairman, Saki West Local Government, a grassroots politician and mobiliser of repute, and one of those who stood firmly by former governor Ladoja, on the side of truth and history, in the defence of democracy during the 2006 illegal impeachment saga.
Popularly called Bash, Architect Lawal is expected to bring to bear his wealth of experience to ensure the task of liberating Oyo State from the vicious grip of the current APC government, and returning smiles to the faces of the good people of Oyo State, is achieved without delay.
A formal inauguration of the Campaign Organisation is to be announced at a later date.
