The Bola Tinubu/Teslim Folarin Campaign Council in Oyo State on Sunday evening raised a strident alarm over the unbridled attacks on the people of the state by a gang of terror led by the chairman of the disciplinary committee of the Park Management System, PMS, Mukaila Lamidi telling the people of Oyo State and the world at large to hold Governor Seyi Makinde responsible for any mishap or a total breakdown of law and order in the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, Head of the Public Affairs and Critical Communications Directorate of the Presidential and Governorship Council, Oyo State, it said the nefarious activities of Mukaila Lamidi also known as Auxiliary, an appointee of the Governor of Oyo State has already created palpable tension all over the state.
Olaosebikan said the tensed situation, rather than decreasing, has continued to excalate despite all the numerous calls, complaints and reports to the governor on the criminality being perpetrated by Mukaila who was recently gleefully eulogized by the Oyo State Governor when reporters on live radio programme sought to know what he was doing to prevent a breakdown of rule and order following complaints from different quarters of his violent attacks.
“Only this morning, Tinubu/Folarin spokesman lamented that a convoy of close to 30 buses belonging to members of the PMS, loaded with thugs in red caps and branded in PDP T-shirts took off from the headquarters of Ido Local Government around 11.00 am. This was after they had waited for one another, drinking and smoking all sorts of things. Those who passed by the place at the time thought they were going to war.
“Our members in the area claimed that the gang led by Auxiliary moved from Ido to the three local government areas in Ibarapa land injured people, destroyed billboards and houses with APC logo.
Some of our injured members are currently receiving treatments in various hospitals.
“On Saturday our people who were going to Ibarapa met the convoy of Engr. Joseph Tegbe and without any provocation, they unleashed violence on them.
“Why Governor Makinde is keeping Mukaila Lamidi in government is only known to him. The people would recall how one Mr. Rahmon was killed in front of his mother’s shopping complex in the Iwo-road area of the state. It is still unresolved and Mukaila Lamidi, who was fingered, still walks around. The same Mukaila Lamidi was the agent provocateur in the violence that led to the killing of innocent souls around Ali-Iwo area of the state. This happened a few meters to the Government House and Governor Seyi Makinde’s private residence.
“This is not the first time our people have been attacked. Almost everyday, one form of attack is unleashed on our members. We have written to the police to check him. We are law-abiding people but if left unchecked, our people may be forced to defend themselves. The police and other security agencies should quickly wade in to save the people of the state.
“We also call on the Inspector General of Police to invite Mr. Mukaila Lamidi for questioning over the crises that have been perpetrated in the state now and in the past. We wonder whether Governor Seyi Makinde is enjoying the crises in the state in order to jerk up his monthly security vote,” the party queried
“We are hereby alerting the good people of Oyo State on the involvement of Seyi Makinde’s government through the criminal activities of his employee, Mukaila Lamidi in the excalating violence and criminality in Oyo State and informing them and the entire world to hold Seyi Makinde responsible for any mishap or a total breakdown down of law and oder in the state.”
The directorate also described as falsehood and idiotic a claim by Makinde that the opposition parties were planning to burn INEC offices in the state and advised advised security agencies to keep an eye on the activities of men of the PMS who are working to use violence to scare the public who are are already fed up with the failure of the incumbent administration in the state.
