Dr Olusola Ayandele, a businessman and philanthropist has empowered an upcoming artiste, Adeola Akogun with a million naira in fulfilment of an earlier promise.
The one million naira cash donations was handed over to Akogun on Wednesday in Ibadan by Ayandele’s Personal Assistant, Olusola Adeleke.
The Ibarapa-born Ayandele had few hours before then, picked a nomination form to contest Oyo South Senatorial ticket on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ayandele said that the donation was a fulfilment of his earlier promise to empower Akogun, whom he described as promising young man.
“When I met him, I discovered he is talented and needed support to attain his desired goal in life. I just gave him a million naira today as a token to support him.
“This is one of the many ways I give back to the society apart from facilitating jobs for youths.
“I am optimistic that he will use the money wisely as a capital to do something and sustain his livelihood,” he said.
He said that such was his usual way of empowering people and giving back to the society.
Akogun appreciated Ayandele for the gesture and giving him a lifeline to sustain his livelihood.
He commended Ayandele, describing him as Godsent and an Omoluabi who should be entrusted with power.
“An omoluabi in the Yoruba culture isn’t only a respectful and humble person, but one who keeps promises. All of these is what Ayandele epitomises. He is a giver and humility personified.
“The type of Ayandele is worth being entrusted with positions. I learnt he has facilitated jobs for more than 500 Oyo State indigenes. I pray that God Almighty grant his desires always,” he said.
Speaking on Ayandele’s Senatorial ambition, Akogun urged the people to support him, adding they would never regret their action.
