The leadership of the Southwest region of Atiku Care Foundation has been assured that the organization will soon embark on some humanitarian projects that will benefit the poor and needy in the geopolitical zone.
Director-General of the Foundation, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas who was in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on a strategy meeting with state directors in the zone gave the assurance on Wednesday.
Abbas had expressed confidence that with altruistic connection with the segment that forms the target of the Foundation, the only option available was to impact the people with available support.
“As you all know, the mandate of this organisation is not motivated by politics; we are not here to preach about the politics of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who is our Grand Patron. He has not sent us here to campaign to you. His main preoccupation is to mobilize support for the downtrodden, the poor and the vulnerable to stand on their feet again.
“Let me assure you, that with your support and that of well-spirited Nigerians, we will begin to affect the lives of our people in this region positively soon,” Abbas pledged.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Regional Director, Hon. Oludare Olatunde thanked the DG for the visit and appealed that the effects of the organisation as a philanthropic body are required in the region, particularly due to the devastation caused by the Covid19 pandemic.
“We are indeed grateful and happy that you are here. But if you look at the faces of our people everywhere, you will notice that everyone still require some form of assistance,” Olatunde urged.
In his address, the host, Hon. Ayobami Olusegun Adekunle who is the State Director of Oyo, noted that inhabitants of the state are eager to have more of the presence of the organisation.
He pleaded with the ACF leader on the need to connect with kind-hearted Nigerians that can assist in facilitating many people-oriented projects for the benefits of the people of the region; which he noted could be donated as projects.
“We are indebted to appreciate the DG for moving ACF from national to the global scene in partnering with the MindMe International, the PLO Lumunba Foundation and some other popular personalities in Africa. I want to inform you that our people are really eager to see these initiatives taking roots in our country, especially here in the Southwest” Adekunle said.
The ACF leader was accompanied to the visit by his Senior Special Adviser on Human Relations and International Affairs, Mr. Collins Onyeaji.
Also in attendance were the ACF Directors in Ekiti State, Hon. Sunday Olorunfemi; his Ondo State counterpart, Hon. Segun Seriki; Prince Adedamola of Osun and Hon. Matthew Abegunde of Lagos states.
