A former member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Wale Okediran, has bagged the Onigege Ara (the man with the wonderful pen) title from the Aseyin of Iseyin, his hometown, Oba AbdulGaniyu Adekunle Salau.
Okediran, a former president of the Association of Nigerian Authors, represented Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwakowa/Kajola federal constituency between 2003 and 2007.
The honour, OYOINSIGHT.COM learnt, is in recognition of his meritorious contribution to the political and intellectual development of Iseyin, including the establishment of the Ebedi international Writers Residency.
The event which will hold on Saturday, November 16 2019 at the Aseyin’s palace in Iseyin will take place at 10am.
Okediran, a medical doctor, has published five novels, and short stories in several journals in Nigeria and overseas. He writes a weekly medical column in The Nigerian Tribune and was formerly general secretary of the Association of Nigerian Authors.
