A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sola Abegunde, has chided Adebo Ogundoyin, that the people of Ibarapa doesn’t want the party.
Ogundoyin had while trying to cover up his statement that ‘Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, is not funding projects meant for Ibarapaland, berated the opposition for leaking the video posted on TikTok.
RE: IBARAPA PEOPLE DON’T WANT APC AGAIN BY OYO SPEAKER.
I read with great amusement the position of Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly in a Press statement which he obviously made as a damage control to a viral video where he was seen admitting to the colossal failure of the Seyi Makinde Government in Ibarapa zone.
I do not intend to join issues with the Speaker regarding his allegation that the video was the handiwork of “opposition elements” because the content of the video, the circumstances and the facts are clear for any sensible human being to deduce the truth.
However, I wish to emphasize that all the statements made by the Speaker regarding the refusal of Governor Makinde to fund projects in Ibarapa zone is correct and verifiable truth.
The attempt by the Speaker to make a volte face is understandable. He never intended his statements to become Public. He, due to his frustrations of his inability to convince the people of Ibarapa made an unforced error and should be man enough to carry the cross.
The sour part of his ill advised Press statement is the part where he said the people of Ibarapa are tired of APC!
The results of the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly election in Ibarapa doesn’t lay credence to the statement of the Speaker.
In fact, in Ibarapa East where the Speaker comes from, the APC won in all the ten wards including ward 2 where the Speaker comes from.
As a matter of fact, the Speaker lost his polling unit to the APC.
It is very shameful that all the Speaker could point to as “achievements” are mere approvals, flag offs and a litany of abandoned projects.
Most shameful of all is the fact that Adebo is pointing at the Ogundoyin Road which actually passed through his late father’s residence and a Road till as we speak is impassable to even a motorcycle!
The New-garage-poly Road is another typical example of why the people of Ibarapa have decided not to vote the PDP.
The said Road had been awarded by the Makinde Government, allegedly, to the Speaker as the Contractor for about three years now and as we speak, the project is abandoned.
The same goes for the New Eruwa – Maya Road. It has been abandoned until recently that some skeletal jobs are being done.
It is true that Governor Makinde promised us in Ibarapa that he would turn Eruwa Farm settlement to an Agric hub. I change the Speaker to show pictures of how the place looks now.
I think the Speaker capped the insults when he alluded to the Grant promised by the Governor to the College of Education, Lanlate.
Yes. The Governor promised almost a year ago and until today, he has failed as usual to fulfill the promise.
I will conclude by advising the Speaker that he is not the right person to teach morals.
What was he teaching the younger generation when on the eve of the Local government election, he came to town ahead of a convoy of thugs who were shooting sporadically and beating innocent citizens?
Unfortunately, during that election, four individuals lost their lives.
The people of Ibarapa are no idiots. They will keep voting the APC. They will never reinforce violence and failure.
