Late former governor Adebayo Alao Akala would always be remembered for being a man of the people, Kamil Akinlabi, chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSTROMA, has said.
The Oyo-born politician, who represented AFIJIO/Atiba/Oyo East/OyoWest federal constituency between 2007 and 2015, in a statement, described the death of the Ogbomosho-born politician as shocking.
He said he is just coming to terms with the death of his former leader.
OYOINSIGHT.COM recalls that ALAO-Akala, the leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, died in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Among many other reasons, the fact that he was a man of the people would always set him aside from other political leaders this state has seen,” Akinlabi wrote.
He noted that Akala’s love for the people of the state is seen in the level of pro-masses policies he implemented while serving as the governor of the state.
“I pray Almighty God grant us all the fortitude the bear the weight of his exit,” he added
