The Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora under the leadership of Mr. Isiaka Olaniyi Adekunle, the Acting Rector has commiserated with the chief mourner, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the families of former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala and the people of Oyo State over the death of the former Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala.
In a condolence message signed by the Acting Registrar of the institution, Mr. Paul Oyediran, and was delivered during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased at the weekend, the Acting rector expressed shock at the sudden demise of (Dr.) Alao-Akala.
The statement further read, “On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Board of Studies, Staff and Students of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, we sincerely commiserate with the Wives, Children, the people of Ogbomoso, Family and Friends of our dear former Governor of Oyo State Otunba (Dr.) Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala on his sudden exit from the mother earth.
“The entire OYSCATECH Community deeply grief this monumental loss of a kind hearted former Governor who succeeded in putting his footprints on the sands of time.
“It must be put on record that the dream of establishing a Specialized Institution that will cater for middle level Man-Power came into lime light during the tenure of the former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala who demonstrated his commitment through the release of funds that were used for the Construction of Nine different Projects that he personally Commissioned on 4th June, 2009.
“For the records, the Projects included; the Gate House and Fence, the Administrative Building Complex, 800-Seater Lecture Theater, 2 Blocks of Six Lecture rooms, Temporary Laboratory Building, Works Unit Building, Power House, Poultry House, the Pig House, Tractor and farm Equipment coupled with Road Network from Igbole junction to the campus and within the campus. The Engineering building, Research Laboratory and Home and Rural Economics Building which were later constructed, were facilitated through more funds that were made available under his administration.
“As we mourn this Painful exit of an illustrious son and former Governor of Oyo State, we are however, consoled by his positive contributions to humanity, tertiary education in Oyo State and Oyo State in general.
“May the Almighty God comfort and stand by the entire family, Ogbomoso Town and Oyo State at this crucial Period.
“May God Almighty grant our former Governor eternal rest.
