A group working for the election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Mr Seyi Makinde, in the March 9 governorship election in Oyo State, the Oyo Kajola Group (OKG), has warned the electorate to “be wary of the desperation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the contest at all cost.
This was just as the group advised the people of to be courageous, resolute and determined to end the bad governance of the APC, despite the impending persecution and employment of desperate tactics by the APC leadership to win.
In a statement by the media coordinator of the group, Mr Taiwo Ogunlade, the group warned voters to stay focused on electing Makinde as their governor, saying that the state “is too important to be allowed to bossed around by Senator Bola Tinubu, who sits down in Lagos and tries to install district officers over South-West states.”
The group further made reference to “an ungodly and anti-people pact” between the leadership of the APC and former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, noting that the move is “a selfish, ungodly and self-centred attempt” to share the commonwealth of Oyo State.
Calling on voters not to fret over the alliance Alao-Akala entered into with the APC, which it stated “is for his personal benefit and survival as demonstrated in the instant reinstatement of Olamiju Alao-Akala as the chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government and other personal gains,” the group urged “Oyo State residents to take their state back from political hawks and businessmen, who think they can run the state like the personal estates.”
