Alaafin: It’s The End Of An Era — Ilaji Boss, Sanusi

    Engr. Dotun Sanusi, the CEO of Ilaji farms and resorts, has described the transition of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, as the end of an era.

    Recall that OYOINSIGHT reported that the Alaafin joined his ancestors on Saturday after reigning for over five decades.

    In a statement on Sunday, Sanusi, an Ibadan-based businessman, noted that the Alaafim was a father to many.

    “For five decades, Alaafin Adeyemi reigned over Oyo empire. During this period, he personally made numerous sacrifices in the interest of the Yoruba people.

    “During this period, he was centre to the preservation of our traditional institutions, defence of our cultural heritage, and representation of our collective interest.

    “If weighed from this lenses, his transition is nothing but the of an era, an era so significant, it can never be replicated.”

    Sanusi added that, at the moment, he can only hope that the members of the Alowolodu ruling house, Oyo town and Yoruba people have to the fortitude to bear the impact of the exit of the Alaafin.

    “Baba was a monarch in a class of his own,” he added.
