All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Chief Niyi Akintola, has revealed that there is no leadership vacuum in the state chapter of the party.
According to Akintola, who spoke at the monthly breakfast meeting of the South West Group of Online Publishers, SWEGOP, former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, is technically the leader of APC in Oyo State.
He said that “Articles 11 and 12 of our party constitution have stated it clearly. In case there is no former governor, former governor, former deputy, ex-senate president, ex-reps speaker, ex-assembly speaker, ex-assembly deputy speaker are members of the Board of Trustees at the state level. The state executives report to them. But unfortunately, we have never had something like that before. Being the only former governor in the state, Alao-Akala is technically the leader of the party in the state. I am also a member of the committee being a former deputy speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.”
