A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. AbdulAzeez Adeduntan, has insisted the Oloye Bayo Adelabu who eventually got the party’s ticket is arrogant.
Adeduntan, who was a commissioner under the immediate past administration, spoke on a radio programme on Lagelu 96.7 FM monitored by OYOINSIGHT.COM in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Explaining that Adelabu is arrogant, he said his arrogance led to the failure of the party in 2019. This is just as he advised the former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to be humble if he wants to go far politically.
NationalInsight quoted him as saying that “When I noticed Governor Seyi Makinde’s alliance with former governor Rashidi Ladoja and others, I called him 48hours to the election but he believed that former governor Abiola Ajimobi alone can make him the governor. I don’t know where he got the confidence from.
While clearing the air on his ambition, Adeduntan said “My governorship ambition is not a matter of life and death because it is decided by God, they betrayed me and Adelabu betrayed himself.”
Reacting to the allegation that he betrayed the party by congratulating Makinde, who defeated APC candidate during the election, Adeduntan said ” I didn’t betray anybody, I congratulated Makinde because he won the election, he is my brother, just like Ajimobi who is from Oja-Oba in Ibadan and if Adelabu had won, I would have done same.”
