Adebayo Adelabu, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, has congratulated Bola Tinubu on his victory at the party’s presidential primaries.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, who was unable to secure the party’s governorship ticket, advised the former Lagos governor to use the opportunities of his victory to unite party members who have been forced out.
According to the Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadanland, he and others who never hid their confidence in Asiwaju’s aspiration to the number one position from the beginning have suffered victimization in their various states from those he called opposing forces, adding that he was consoled by his emergence at the presidential primaries.
CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU ON HIS VICTORY AT THE APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION*
I hereby congratulate my political mentor and role model, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu on his hard earned victory at the just concluded presidential primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
By this victory, you have proven to the whole world once again that you are indeed a National Icon of Democracy and a Unifying force in the Progressives fold. Your overwhelming victory attested to your wide acceptability to all and sundry across the length and breadth of the country, tribe, age, gender and religion notwithstanding. You have shown an unparalled political sagacity and strict adherence to democratic tenets by your insistence on decision by the ballots and not by conscensus. This didn’t only reflect the fighting spirit in you but exhumed the unimaginable display of confidence despite all odds and obstacles.
While some of us, who never hid our confidence and faith in your leadership and aspiration to the number one position in the country from the beginning, have suffered victimisation in our various states from opposing forces, we take solace in your emphatic success at the primary election. We are very proud of you sir and indeed further inspired in our respective aspirations by this victory through our chosen platforms.
I also want to thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari for making possible an atmosphere for a free and fair election by delegates as against concensus as advised in certain quarters. You have justified the confidence Nigerians have in your leadership.
I’m therefore using this medium to advise Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to use the opportunity of this victory as the APC’s candidate in the next general elections to immediately arrest and repair all the internal wranglings and stinking irregularities within the APC fold, that frustrated some loyal and decent party members out of the party.
I wish you good luck at the general election next year. Once again, congratulations sir.
