New officers have emerged to pilot the affairs of the Association of Nigeria Broadcasters (ANBROAD) for the next three years.
At the election held at Yes Media Academy Hall, Ibadan, a veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulganeey, emerged as president of the association.
Other elected leaders included Akinyemi Olatoye as Vice President 1 and Adeola Balogun as Vice President 2.
Speaking after his emergence, the newly elected president, Abdulrasaq, promised transparency, accountability, and a commitment to elevating ANBROAD.
The ANBROAD has duties that include setting goals, supporting broadcasters, and addressing significant issues within the industry and Nigeria.
Group Managing Director, 101.7 YesFM Ibadan, Mr. Yemi Sonde, who witnessed the election, congratulated the newly elected president and other members.
A statement released by the corporate Communication Secretary, Akolade Adekola, reiterates that Mr. President charged all other newly elected officers to be steadfast and dedicated to work for the progress of the association.
He quoted Mr. GRA as saying that “In our government, there will be an accurate and systemic database where biodata of all members of ANBROAD will be accessible globally.
“This will afford us to have a working website where all members from all states would be captured.
“In our government, we are going to have a monitoring and ethical committee that will see to the professional conduct of members.
“This will enable us to collaborate with NBC in ensuring quality and standard broadcast contents nationwide
“Of course training and retraining of members will be a top priority in our government.”
And as the provost of TNM Media Academy, Mr President said, he will not hesitate to use the platform to help this course
“Also, welfare of members is paramount to us. We would see to the empowerment of our members. We would assist people who cannot turn their talents to fortune to create an empire through new media and other platforms, with the help of Almighty God”.
The event witnessed some eminent personalities in the broadcast sector in Nigeria like Prince Kolade Alabi, the Steering Committee Chairman; Alh Sulaiman Adegbenro (Consoligbadun), Secretary; Chief Olu Akindele (Alafin Abuja), corporate Communications Secretary, Chief Mrs. Ibiyemi Ajadi(Iya Kodi);?Treasurer alongside Chief Abbey Fagboro, Elder Goke Babalola, Alh Gboyega Lawal, Chief Timothy Agboola Erekeni Shop, Alhaji (Dr) Akinkunmi Alabi, GM Fresh 104.9fm_Osogbo; Oloye Kola Akintayo Ode ilu ibadan, Alh Abdulfatai Adeniyi Dan Kazeem, Dr Bade Ojuade, Alh Bisi Ajiboye_Sogigun and others.
