The Skill Acquisition Centre, Yemetu Aladorin, is one project that was special to me as Chairman Ibadan North Local Government. When I came into office in 2011 and I was going round all the facilities owned by the local government, we got to the centre and met it in a terrible state and I decided there and then to rehabilitate the center.

We rehabilitated it and equipped the centre with materials needed for the following vocational services.

1.ICT
2.Hairdressing and Wig designing
3.Fashion design
4.Shoemaking
5.Catering and Baking
6.Welding

Experienced instructors were engaged in all the departments where rhe students enjoyed high quality education.

Learning any skill at the centre was free, our graduation ceremony was every six months and in 3 years we had graduated almost two thousand students between the ages of 18 and 75.

Start-up kits were given out to the best 10 graduating students from each class to for them to commence their entrepreneurship journey immediately while others were registered with businesses interested in their services.

It is my belief that we should have a Skill Acquisition Centre in every senatorial district or even every federal constituency in Nigeria,it will go a long way in increasing self employment and I shall push for this to be a reality when elected into the House of Representatives.
