Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, governor of neighbouring Osun has left his Oyo counterpart, ‘Seyi Makinde as the only governor on the platform of the troubled Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the southwest.
In the last few days, many governors on the platform of the PDP, have been leaving, fearing that the nomination process within the party may be subject of litigation.
Makinde, who has assumed leadership of the party in the past months, has not been finding it easy as the party has lost many membership to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The two-term Oyo governor wants to succeed incumbent Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke, who had stayed away from the PDP convention in Ibadan, had in a letter posted in the early hours of today and addressed to the party chairman in Sagba Abogunde ward 2 of Ede North, resigned his membership of the PDP.
OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that the governor, who is seeking a second term, may defect to Accord in the next few days.
