The Oyo State police command have arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar.
Twenty-eight year old Mutiu Oguntola, who was apprehended yesterday, was reported to have sustained bullet injuries in the shoulder blade and groin while trying to escape.
He said that one of them was shot while trying to evade arrest.
This is coming after Force public relations officer, Mr. Frank Mba, had confirmed the arrest of four suspects in connection with the murder.
Sugar, as he was fondly called, was killed during the governorship and state assembly elections in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Mba said that the suspect was taken to an undisclosed hospital where he was being stabilised.
He said: “There are now five suspects in the custody of the Oyo State police command”, saying the suspects may be transferred to Abuja next week.
Sugar was shot in the face by suspected gunmen on March 9 in Lalupon and was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) where he died at the Intensive Centre Unit (ICU).
