Ifedapo Solidarity Forum Hails Ayobami Ojo’s Resignation As Makinde’s Commissioner

The Ifedapo Solidarity Forum has commended Barrister Ayobami Ojo Adigun following his resignation as Oyo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, describing his decision to leave Governor Seyi Makinde’s cabinet as an act of courage, integrity and strong personal conviction.

In a letter titled ‘A Letter of Accolade and Commendation’, the group praised the former commissioner for voluntarily relinquishing his appointment, saying the decision reflected his commitment to personal principles above the privileges associated with public office.

The forum noted that public appointments were often regarded as positions to be retained at all costs, adding that Ojo’s decision demonstrated uncommon character and an understanding of the responsibilities that come with public service.

“It takes a person of strong character to make a decision of this nature, particularly when such an appointment comes with influence, recognition and the opportunity to serve at the highest level of state administration,” the letter stated.

The group argued that leadership should not be measured solely by the positions people occupy, the titles they hold or the privileges they enjoy, but also by their willingness to make difficult decisions in line with their convictions.

It added that Ojo’s resignation did not diminish his contributions to society or his capacity to continue making meaningful impact outside government.

The forum urged him to remain steadfast and optimistic as he begins another chapter, expressing confidence that his exit from public office could open up further opportunities for service and personal fulfilment.

It also prayed for divine guidance, strength and greater opportunities for the former commissioner in his future endeavours.

The letter concluded by reaffirming the group’s respect, admiration and goodwill towards Ojo.
