Oyelade Reacts To Resignations In Makinde’s Administration, Says ‘It Comes With The Times’

Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has reacted to the recent resignations of political appointees in Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, saying the latest departure did not come as a surprise to the governor.

Oyelade was reacting to the resignation of the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Barrister Ayobami Ojo, who left the cabinet on Monday, November 2, 2026.

In a statement issued on Monday, the commissioner said that while some supporters might feel betrayed by the developments, Makinde had a sense of déjà vu.

He praised the governor for what he described as his ability to remain composed and firm in his convictions despite what he called sustained intimidation, adding that other political leaders had yielded under similar pressure.

According to Oyelade, Makinde’s position sends a message about the importance of standing by one’s conscience and the truth.

“The clear message that Governor Seyi Makinde is sending to all of us is that conscience is an open wound and only truth can heal it,” he said.

The commissioner added that the governor was reassuring Nigerians, particularly residents of Oyo State, that courage and consistency were necessary at a time when, according to him, political victories built on lies, empty promises, cajoling and deceit were coming to an end.
