Makinde’s Special Adviser On Budget, Oyeleke Resigns Appointment
Hon. Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke, Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has resigned his appointment, citing an unconducive working environment and his inability to effectively pursue the aspirations of his people within the administration.
Oyeleke, a two-term member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and former local government chairman, announced his resignation in a letter dated November 2, 2026, addressed to Governor Makinde.

In the letter, he said his resignation would take effect from November 2, adding that he was no longer comfortable with the environment and could not effectively pursue and fulfil the aspirations of his people while serving in the administration.
Despite his decision to leave the government, Oyeleke expressed appreciation to Makinde for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging the confidence reposed in him and the experience gained during his tenure.
He also thanked the governor for his leadership, encouragement and support, saying it had been an honour to contribute to the administration’s vision, policies and developmental programmes for the people of Oyo State.
“I sincerely appreciate Your Excellency’s leadership, encouragement, support and the invaluable experience I have gained during my period of service. I remain grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this administration and to have contributed to its laudable achievements,” he wrote.
Oyeleke further reaffirmed his commitment to the peace, progress and development of Oyo State, while expressing his highest esteem and consideration for the governor.
His resignation comes amid a series of departures and changes involving political appointees and officials in the Makinde administration, as political alignments continue to evolve ahead of the 2027 general elections.
