Oyo In Global Spotlight As Deji Ola Showcases Investment Potential At World Investment Forum, Lauds Makinde

Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola, Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on Political Matters, has showcased the investment opportunities available in Oyo State, Nigeria, at the ongoing World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar.

The forum, organised by the United Nations, brings together world leaders, heads of government, ministers, chief executive officers, and investors from across the globe to explore investment opportunities, foster international partnerships, and promote sustainable economic development.

Established in 2008, the World Investment Forum has become a global platform for discussions on investment and development, providing an avenue for governments and business leaders to explore opportunities for economic growth and international collaboration. This year’s theme, “Investing in the Future,” underscores the importance of strategic investments in driving sustainable development.

Speaking at the forum, Ola presented Oyo State’s investment potential under the theme “INVEST IN Ọ̀YỌ́,” highlighting the state’s opportunities across several key sectors, including tourism, agribusiness, education, hospitality, solid minerals, healthcare, technology, real estate, and food processing.

He emphasised that Oyo State offers promising opportunities for investors, citing the conducive business environment fostered under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde. He noted that the state’s economic potential, strategic advantages, and commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses make it an attractive destination for both local and international investors.

Among the investment opportunities highlighted by Ola was the Iyake Suspended Lake, a remarkable natural attraction located in Ado-Awaye, Oyo State. The lake is widely recognised for its unusual geological features and is often described as one of only two suspended lakes in the world, making it a potential attraction for tourism development and related investments.

Ola’s participation in the global forum provided an opportunity to present Oyo State’s economic potential to an international audience, draw attention to its diverse investment prospects, and encourage partnerships that could contribute to the state’s economic growth and development.

He also expresses his profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for granting him the rare privilege of attending the event.
