Olubadan To Elevate Adenrele Lekan-Salami Oyetunde As Bada Balogun Friday

Oloye Adenrele Lekan-Salami Oyetunde will be elevated to the title of Bada Balogun of Ibadanland on Friday, October 23, 2026.

The traditional installation ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, at 10am, after which a reception will take place at the Oyetunde Palace, Eleta, Ibadan.

OYOINSIGHT.com gathered that Oyetunde is the youngest son of the late Chief Lekan Salami, a renowned sports administrator, philanthropist and industrialist.

His elevation follows an earlier double promotion to the title of Ajia Balogun by the Olubadan-in-Council.

The Oyetunde family of Eleta has produced two former Olubadans of Ibadanland: Olubadan Oyetunde I, who reigned in 1946, and Oba Shittu Akintola Oyetunde II, who reigned in 1971.

It is worth of note that Ibadan’s traditional chieftaincy system operates through established promotion lines, with chiefs advancing through ranks before becoming eligible for the throne of Olubadan.
