OYSIEC Opens Ad Hoc Staff Recruitment Portal Ahead Of December LG Poll
The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has opened its recruitment portal for eligible Nigerians seeking to serve as ad hoc staff during the December 29, 2026 Local Government Council Elections in the state.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the commission, Dr Afees Adeniyi, and made available to journalists on Monday, October 5, 2026, OYSIEC said registration for the various positions would run from October 5 to October 20, 2026.
The commission directed interested and eligible applicants to register through its electronic recruitment portal within the stipulated period.
According to the statement, the positions available include Presiding Officers (PO), Assistant Presiding Officers (APO), Supervisors (SU), Ward Collation Officers (WCO), Local Government Returning Officers (LGRO) and Local Government Assistant Returning Officers (LGARO).
To apply, interested candidates are required to visit the OYSIEC e-recruitment portal at https://oysiec.org/adhoc and complete their registration on or before October 20, 2026.
Applicants are expected to have a functional phone number and Android-enabled phone, functional email address, operational commercial bank account and relevant educational qualifications.
For educational requirements, candidates for the positions of Presiding Officer and Assistant Presiding Officer must possess a minimum of OND or NCE.
Applicants for Supervisor and Ward Collation Officer positions are required to have a minimum of BA, B.Sc. or HND, while candidates for Local Government Returning Officer and Local Government Assistant Returning Officer positions must be Chief Lecturers or their equivalent in tertiary institutions.
OYSIEC urged all interested applicants to ensure that their registration is completed within the deadline, stressing that only candidates who meet the stipulated requirements would be considered for engagement.
