Adedibu Biopic ‘Alagbara Ibadan’ To Premiere On Libra TV On Sunday

The much-anticipated biopic on the late Ibadan political heavyweight, Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu, will premiere exclusively on Libra TV on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Titled Adedibu, Alagbara Ibadan, the film chronicles the life, political rise and influence of the late politician, as well as his relationships and legacy in Oyo State and Nigeria.

The biopic was produced by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, and directed by Abiodun Jimoh.

Veteran actor Lere Paimo plays the lead role as Adedibu, alongside Dele Odule, Afeez ‘Saka’ Oyetoro, Segun Arinze, Kayode Olaiya, Adekola Tijani and Taiwo Ibikunle, among others.

Speaking on the project, Oloketuyi said the film was inspired by the need to preserve important aspects of Nigeria’s political history and make them accessible to a wider audience.

“Adedibu, Alagbara Ibadan is an answer to the need to keep Nigeria’s political history alive,” he said.

The film offers viewers an opportunity to revisit the life and political journey of Adedibu, whose name remains closely associated with the political history of Ibadan and Oyo State.

The biopic will premiere on the Libra TV YouTube channel on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Members of the public, historians, political enthusiasts and Nollywood lovers are expected to watch the premiere and revisit the story of the late politician through film.
