The Oyo APC Women led by the party’s Woman Leader, Dr. Felicia Opatunde, mobilized all their colleagues who have intention to secure the tickets of the broom party and participate as candidates for the various political positions in next general elections visited the State Secretariat of the Party on Tuesday where they were received by the State Chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, and other members of the State Working Committee of the Party.

In a letter of request submitted to the State Chairman, the party women reaffirmed their commitment to the cause of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu describing the him (Tinubu) as an energetic, passionate and competent leader who has been destined to take the country to the promise land before exiting the seat of power in 2031.

“We, representing the Women Wing of Oyo APC, use this medium to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to the leadership of our great Party at all levels even as we reiterate our firm belief in the efficacy of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. We also assure that we would not leave any stone unturned to guarantee a second term for our performing President in addition to facilitating the goal of returning the APC to power in Oyo APC come 2027.

“Meanwhile, we urge our leaders to consider women intentionally in their decision-making process because we believe that women have a crucial role to play in shaping the future of our state and the nation as a whole. Specifically, we state our demand for inclusivity as we are approaching the stage where APC candidates would emerge ahead of the 2027 polls.

“Having agreed with the popular proposal for the adoption of the consensus option at the primary but this has to be merit-driven and goals-oriented. We have competent women vying for Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly seats who have to be considered on their own merit and in compliance with the 35 per cent Affirmative Action in global practice.

“Lastly, we encourage all eligible members to participate in the ongoing APC E-regisration Exercise and ensure that our Party has a massive turn-over of membership population. As we approach the primaries, we urge women to stand together and support one another so that we can have a fair share of the party tickets and claim our rightful place in the scheme of things as far as governance is concerned.” The letter concluded.
