In a significant step toward advancing educational access in Oyo State, Ambassador Kunle Adeleke, State Chief of Protocol, Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has sponsored over 300 students for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination across the Oyo Federal Constituency. Building on the success of the first edition held last year, this second edition further consolidates his commitment to educational development in the region.

This year’s programme is being executed in collaboration with the National Association of Oyo Students (NAOS) and Oyo Tech Hub, bringing together community stakeholders to deliver both academic and digital empowerment opportunities to young people. The initiative, which goes beyond payment of examination fees, includes comprehensive preparatory classes and stipends for beneficiaries, a move designed to remove financial barriers and improve students’ chances of academic success.

Ambassador Adeleke described the intervention as part of his broader commitment to youth empowerment and educational development in Oyo and its environs. He noted that the gesture is a direct commitment to and furtherance of the age-long grassroots legacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his family, whose political philosophy has always centered on investing in human capital at all levels. “This initiative is not just about paying for JAMB forms,” he stated. “It is about equipping these young people with the right preparation, confidence, and support system to succeed. The future of our children must remain a priority.”

Understanding the financial constraints faced by many families, the programme provides structured tutorial sessions to ensure candidates are academically prepared for the examination. In addition, each student receives support in terms of refreshments and other logistics, ensuring consistent attendance. The intervention is widely seen as a practical demonstration of inclusive leadership and community-focused development, particularly in a constituency where many bright students risk being excluded from higher education due to financial hardship.

Speaking on the implementation process, Manager of Oyo Tech Hub, Mr. Ibukun Atoro, emphasized that the selection of beneficiaries was transparent and equitable. “The selection process was fair and inclusive, covering all four Local Government Areas in the Oyo Federal Constituency,” he said. “The goal was to ensure that deserving students, particularly those facing financial hardship, were not left behind.”

The initiative carries an added incentive as candidates who perform exceptionally well in the JAMB examination may be considered for further assistance throughout their tertiary education. This tiered support system ensures that brilliance is met with opportunity. As Mr. Abdqudus Opeyemi Taiwo, President of the National Association of Oyo Students, aptly noted, “This approach reinforces the fundamental message that education remains the most viable and sustainable pathway to a brighter future for our youths.'”

Beyond his official duties, Ambassador Adeleke is proving that leadership is most effective when it reaches the grassroots. His recent intervention in Oyo and its environs aligns perfectly with the “Renewed Hope” mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an outstanding leader whose legacy of human capital development is widely acknowledged. By removing financial barriers to education, the Ambassador is ensuring that the President’s vision for an inclusive Nigeria reaches every household.

The second edition of the programme was executed in partnership with the National Association of Oyo Students and Oyo Tech Hub, a pioneer technology hub dedicated to digital skills development and career advancement. This operational partnership played a central role in coordinating preparatory classes and ensuring beneficiaries receive structured academic support within a technology-driven learning environment. Working closely together with a network of volunteers, they mobilised students, manage logistics, and integrate basic digital literacy into the tutorial experience.

Their collaboration highlights the growing intersection between education and digital inclusion, ensuring students are not only prepared to pass examinations but are also exposed to skills relevant to the modern workforce and the evolving digital economy.

Strategic observers and grassroots development analysts have characterized this initiative as a transformative vision for regional advancement, signaling a critical pivot toward sustainable human capital investment. This mission is underscored by Ambassador Adeleke, who maintains that the program’s core objective is the cultivation of a generation equipped for global competitiveness. The initiative operates on the principle that the state must remain resolute in its commitment to youth development, ensuring that socio-economic backgrounds and external circumstances do not serve as impediments to academic and professional potential.

With over 700 young candidates already benefiting across the two editions of the programme, the initiative sets a strong example of how philanthropy, public responsibility, and strategic partnerships can combine to advance educational development in Oyo State. It stands as a potential model for similar interventions across other constituencies seeking to improve access to tertiary education and empower the next generation.
