Adesiyan, in a statement on Friday, noted that  the development is a welcome one that marks a watershed moment for students and stakeholders of the institution.

The statement read:

“As a proud graduate and former Students’ Union President of Oyo State College of Health Sciences and Technology (OYSCHST), Eleyele, Ibadan, I express my deep admiration for the visionary leadership of the College on the approval of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme for its graduates. This achievement marks a defining moment in the academic evolution of the institution and affirms OYSCHST’s growing and evolving excellence. The inclusion of the institution removes long-standing limitations and opens new pathways for national service, personal growth, and career advancement.

I commend the Visitor to the College and the Governing Council Chairman for their support. I specially appreciate and applaud the Provost, Pharmacist ‘Yemisi Oyewo, for her purposeful leadership and steadfast commitment to academic quality and institutional advancement. Her reassurance to prospective and current students, alongside her resolve to sustain high academic and moral standards, reflects a leadership style that prioritises excellence.

To the students of OYSCHST, this is our victory as much as it is the institution’s. Your resilience, cooperation, and belief in the College’s vision have contributed to this success. I urge them to have a renewed commitment to upholding the reputation of the College. This approval places greater responsibility on all students to remain disciplined ambassadors of the institution where they are mobilized for the national service.

As OYSCHST continues its journey—rooted in its long history since 1933 and strengthened by its expansion and accreditation of more programmes — I encourage prospective students to take advantage of this opportunity as admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session approaches. This landmark approval is not just an administrative achievement; it is a statement that further affirms the College as an indispensable cog in the wheel of healthcare providers who keep the healthcare system functioning in the state and beyond to compete, contribute, and produce graduates ready for public health service and global relevance.”
