A prominent Ibadan family head, Mogaji Ilori-Koleoso family, Orita merin, Oja’Ba area, Chief Surv, Reuben Abiodun Alabi Koleoso, mins, FCA has distributed 1, 000 back to school exercise books to pupils in his area and also presentes the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC forms to five indigent students.
Koleoso, presented all these materials during a family New Year prayer program on Sunday in the family compound.
The programme, he said is aimed at offering prayers for the family and their dead ones and also the neighboring compounds like Fijabi, Akere and other families in the area.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Koleoso said, aside from offering prayers for the progress of the family, it is also an avenue to sustain family bond as the whole family members who have seen each other in a very long time will reunite and will have the opportunity to ask about each other’s well-being.
“Apart from the fact that this kind of gathering is to offer prayers for the unity and progress of the family and for the repose of the souls of our dead ones, it is also an avenue to sustain and strengthen the bond among the family.
“Some of us here only meet in a gathering like this in a year, so it is going to be a sort of reunion for us. We will have the opportunity to know if there was any addition to the family in the past one year that we haven’t seen and also know about the well-being of family members.
Other highlights of the program were empowerment for family members and distribution of food items to people
Guests at the occasion include, the Secretary, Olubadan Advisory Council, Mr. Akeem Kolawole Balogun and some Mogajis of Ibadanland.
