The event took place at CAC Grammar School, Orita Aperin, Ibadan, on Saturday.

The medical outreach was organised to ensure that people were in good health. The residents of Ibadan present underwent medical tests in blood pressure, glucose, and eye/visual acuity. The medical team who conducted the outreach was headed by Dr Ronke Lawal, a consultant at UCH. There was a counselling session where Mrs Favour Omowale Akinwale, the chief nursing officer, University College Hospital, Ibadan, counselled the people on foods and drinks to eat and those to avoid. She also enjoined them to prioritise rest. It was discovered during the medical screening that most of those examined had high blood pressure. Mrs Akinwale implored the people to avoid using drugs indiscriminately as she urged them to visit clinics and hospitals whenever they had health concerns.

Various medical drugs were distributed to people who suffered one ailment or the other. Over 200 glasses were given to persons found to have one eye ailment or the other.

In her address to the people, the head of the medical team, Dr Ronke Lawal, commended BBF for putting together the outreach. She stated that the outreach had gone a long way in discovering some health issues people were coping with and in recommending ways to treat and manage the ailments.

While responding, the founder of BBF and convener of the medical outreach, Hon. Bakare Ayotunde Nurudeen, said the medical outreach revealed that people needed to access public health more. He further stated that people should not make health concerns about UCH only, that health centres across local governments and general hospitals are there for people to visit for medical consulting. He assured the people that his foundation would continue to do medical outreach to ensure that people are in good health.
