Established 12 years ago, with a mission to support the needy, the indigent, the weak, and the less privileged in society, Rafeeqee Foundation Inc, a non-profit organisation, has empowered thirty-one people at her yearly empowerment project in Ibadan, Oyo state, November, 2025.
According to the foundation which urged wealthy Nigerians to help the indigent as rising inflation continues to exacerbate hunger and hardship, in 2025 another 100 families will be empowered nationwide.
The vice president of Rafeeqee Foundation, Mr Adeyemo Yakub expressed the foundation’s commitment to addressing the economic challenges bedeviling citizens. He said: “The foundation has positively impacted the lives of vulnerable individuals and families with numerous programmes across the country, including back to school project, Qurbaani feeding project, Ramadan feeding project, Empowerment project, Building Boreholes, Payment of hospital bills, Adoption of orphans and monthly stipends for elderly people.
Given the current challenges in the country, Rafeeqee Foundation has decided to empower 31 vulnerable people during her Oyo State 2025 Empowerment Program.
He also added that outside Nigeria, the foundation has also extended support to families in Niger, Benin Republic, and Rwanda.”
One of the Project Executors for the Foundation in Oyo State, Ms. Barakat Raji noted that the initiative has brought succour to a lot of families who don’t have the means nor the opportunity to get funds that will improve their businesses or start it. She hopes that the beneficiaries will build on this opportunity and make it grow from there.
A beneficiary, Ms. Zainab Abdurrasheed expressed her gratitude for the generous initiative extended towards her business by providing her with the essential goods needed for her productivity and long term growth.
Another beneficiary, Mr. Sulaiman Yusuf couldn’t contain his excitement for being part of the beneficiaries and he stated that the initiative marks a significant step forward in the development and sustainability of his business.
Most beneficiaries and participants thanked the foundation for their commitment to empowering small businesses and for recognizing the value in supporting budding entrepreneurs.
