Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, has expressed his sadness over the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The Senator in his message made available to journalists on Monday in Ogbomoso extended his heartfelt condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council, the entire Ibadan kingdom, and Oyo State at large.

According to the Lawmaker, the late Olubadan’s reign, though very brief, was marked by peace, unity, prosperity, and progress in Ibadanland.

“His leadership style and wisdom earned him the respect and admiration of his subjects. Under his stewardship, Ibadanland experienced unprecedented growth and development, cementing its position as a thriving metropolis,” he said.

He expressed his deepest sympathies to the royal family, particularly the children, grandchildren, and other relatives of the late Olubadan while praying that the Almighty grant them the fortitude to bear the loss and surround them with love, comfort, and peace.

“The late Olubadan’s legacy will be remembered for his commitment to peace, unity, and progress. His reign was characterized by inclusiveness, tolerance, and a deep understanding of the needs of his people. His leadership serves as a model for future generations of traditional rulers,” he declared.

The Senator described the late Olubadan as a great monarch who worked tirelessly to promote the interests of Ibadanland and its people. Adding that his passing is a significant loss to the kingdom, and his legacy will be cherished for years to come.
