In continuation of his empowerment programmes targeting at providing economic succour for his constituents, the lawmaker representing Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency, Oyo, Hon. Akinmoyede Olafisoye Wasiu today organised a training programme for selected fish farmers in the said constituency.
Apart from the training programme which was held at Faith Joe Event Centre, beside Community Secondary School, Alegongo, Ibadan, Hon. Olafisoye equally empowered each of the fish farmers with 100,000 cash, fish feed, species, and also provided them a plastic tank to raise their fish.
Similarly, Hon. Olafisoye equally distributed fertilizers, maize and beans seedlings, and several farm instruments which include world brush cutters, knapsack power sprayers, seed planters, farm tiller and some other agricultural implements to another set of farmers in his constituency.
Hon. Lafi who had earlier on Thursday announced N1.5 million scholarship for 30 students of Community Grammar School. Lalupon who will be writing their WAEC examination in the year 2025, assured his constituents of his resolve to continue to bring more democracy dividends to their doorsteps irrespective of their political affiliations.
Hon. Lafi made the announcement while commissioning a block of six classrooms he facilitated to the said school under the 2024 Sustainable Development Goals Special Intervention Project.
Hon. Lafi added that his motive behind all these interventions he was doing is to provide both community infrastructures and stomach infrastructure for the people considering the present economic situation that is biting hard on the people.
Speaking at the event, the Oyo Central senatorial Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Joshua Oyebamiji said that he was surprised and flabbergasted to see a first time lawmaker at the House of Representatives like Hon. Lafi having sequential and series of empowerment from time to time to better the lots of the people he is representing.
Some of the beneficiaries of today’s empowerment programmes – Agboola Samson Abayomi from Ward 4 in Ejioku Lagelu Local Government, Oduola Sefiu Ward 5, Adebiyi Oluwakemi from Ward 5 Akinyele local government and Adigun Michael respectively, all lauded Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede for being passionate about the welfare of the people that elected him.
While commending him for doing a great job, they hinted that what Hon. Lafi is presently doing has never been done by any of the past lawmakers that had represented the constituency before him.
Others in attendance were the Chairmen of APC in Lagelu and Akinyele local governments, Mr Awoyoola Fatai Sunday and Emmanuel Akinboade, representatives of selected schools, community and religious leaders and others.
