The families of Ola-Eesade and Akoro-Eesade of Eesadeland, Ogooluwa Local Government, Ogbomoso, wish to inform the General Public that, the two ruling families have concluded the nomination of its next Oba.
According to them, the narrations by one Oyeniyi, in Ogbomoso Insight of 15th May, 2024, of a tussle/crisis in the nomination of the candidate are blatant lies, absolute falsehood and complete misrepresentation of facts.
“The process of nomination was done in accordance with the extant laws of the Oyo state Chieftaincy laws and regulation, and the succession traditions, norms, values and ancestral laid down rules of the two ruling families of Eesade (with verifiable documentary evidence for whoever cares to inquire).
“It is therefore safe to say that due processes were followed; traditionally within the family and officially from Local to State Government levels.
“Oyeniyi and Oyebanji were not oblivious of the said processes. As a matter of fact, Oyebanji was the secretaryand was physically present and recorded the proceedings.
“Therefore, coming out now to publish falsehood, just because neither of them emerged as the nominee, and casting aspersions on the person of Governor SeyiMakinde, the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, the OgooluwaLocal Government officials and the entire Eesade family is libelous, distasteful and smacks of subterfuge and red herring. After all, we have it in good authority that Oyebanji and Oyeniyi offered bribes to Government officials in order to subvert the due process.
“Also, in their publication, a clear attempt was made at denigrating Prince Oyebisi JOKOTOYE’s status as a retiree, and promoting their own egos. The Oba-elect, Prince Oyebisi JOKOTOYE, served both in the private and public sector of the country and he retired withunblemished records at the highest level, from the Nigerian Ports Authority.
“Oyebanji and Oyeniyi have been notoriously known along with their co-traveller to be felling and selling Eesade’seconomic trees for their personal gains at the detriment of the entire Eesade clan.
“The only truth he managed to say in his publication is that Governor Seyi Makinde is a fair Umpire, a just man and a man of peace.
”Suffice to say that the lineage of these two men have been called to question by the entire Eesade clan.
“The ruling families of Ola-Eesade and Akoro-Eesade of Eesade land, Ogooluwa local government are thankful to the indigenes of the various towns in Ogooluwa LG, the Governor and government of Oyo State, for their prayers, support and understanding as we move forward.
“Finally the ruling families of Eesade, hereby advice Oyeniyi and Oyebanji to immediately retract their false narratives and tender unreserved apologies to GovernorSeyi Makinde, the Local Government officials and the entire clan and people of Eesade land for their misinformation; failing which necessary legal action will be taken against them for libel.
