Ahmed Raji, senior advocate of Nigeria and president of Okeogun Development Consultative Forum, ODCF, has taken a giant stride to ensure a new construction happens quickly, Daily Insider quoted the new Aseyin of Iseyin, Ọba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III, as saying.
The monarch made this know during his coronation as the 30th monarch of the town.
Oba Oyebola also emphasised that the current palace is unbefitting of him as a monarch, adding that the senior advocate has taken a giant stride to ensure a new construction happens quickly.
Promising that a new “befitting” palace would be erected for the monarch, including a “befitting royal residence,” Governor Seyi Makinde lamented that the current palace is unbefitting to the monarch.
He also charged sons and daughters of Iseyin to contribute toward the construction of the new palace.
Meanwhile, Makinde has named the road at the Iseyin campus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, after Aseyin.
According to the governor, this is a show of gratitude as “all citizens of Iseyin and the former Aseyin tried to make the campus a reality.”
Makinde also stated that the support he received from the Iseyin people was more massive than any local government in Oyo state.
While commending the kingmakers and chiefs, the governor said Oba Oyebola did not lobby for the throne, and they never met until he became king.
He also commended Bashorun Raheem Adelodun and other Aseyin Council chiefs for doing what was right without allowing external influence in the selection process.
