The ACCORD in Oyo State has conducted its ward congress last Tuesday, Local Government on Wednesday and State Congresses on Saturday to elect new executives that will steer the party’s affairs for the next 3 years.
A statement in Ibadan by the ACCORD state secretary, Hon Olayinka Dairo indicates that the all-embracing congress had in attendance the ACCORD national secretary, Hon Dr Adebukola Abiola Ajaja (ddm), the national vice chairman (southwest), Alhaji Dokun Babarinde, the Secretary Congress Committee, Pastor Victor Akande, numerous party members, security agents, and observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in line with its regulation of political parties activities.
Hon. Dairo stated that in line with ACCORD ideologies of all inclusiveness and adequate representation of all geo-political zones in Oyo state.
He listed that Prince Kolade Ojo from Oke-Ogun zone II was re-elected as the ACCORD state chairman, state vice chairman, Hon. Surajudeen Agunbiade from Ibarapa zone, Hon. Olayinka Dairo from Ibadan zone emerged again as state secretary, Hon Oluwaseun Adebayo from Oyo zone is the state new state Youths Leader, while the party’s state Women Leader from Ogbomoso zone is Hon. Fatimo Shittu.
According to Hon. Dairo, other new ACCORD state principal officers include: Organizing Secretary, Hon. Adebola Akinrinade, Financial Secretary, Hon. Demola Olarinto, Hon. Nurudeen Okunla as state Treasurer, state Public Relations Officer, Hon. Bayonle Olayiwola, Legal Adviser, Hon. (Barr.) Saheed Adeyemo as well as Ex-officials I & II, Hon. Oluwatosin Adebisi and Hon. Johnson Ogunlayi respectively.
In a remark, the ACCORD Chairman Congress Committee, Alhaji Dokun Babarinde from Osun state commended the newly elected State Working Committee for their steadfastness, resilience and firm commitment to unique ideologies of ACCORD which is to provide good governance and life abundance for all Nigerians.
“I salute your unwavering commitment to the ideals of ACCORD even in when usurpers made attempt to hijack party structure. You are indeed loyal party stalwarts” Babarinde eulogised.
Alhaji Babarinde also commended party members for trooping to grace the Congresses in orderly and peaceful manner.
In the same vein, the ACCORD National Secretary, Hon. (Dr) Adebukola Abiola Ajaja (ddm) who pointed out that the party’s bonafide members and executives in Oyo state are not swayed by the antics of purveyors of fake news, hinted that the ACCORD National Convention will come up next Thursday, 10th of this month in Abuja, while another Convention will come up towards end of year 2026.
Hon. Ajaja equally praised party supporters for keeping faith with ACCORD, while advising the newly inaugurated Oyo State ACCORD Working Committee to sustain being good ambassadors of the party.
