Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, Hon. Maroof Akinwande has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on his re-election as governor of Oyo State.
Makinde, incumbent governor, was declared winner of the governorship election yesterday.
In a statement Monday morning, Akinwande, who represented Oyo federal constituency between 2003 and 2007, likened Makinde’s emergence to a victory for democracy.
“Governor Seyi Makinde’s emergence represents one of the finest moment for our democracy,” Akinwande said.
“At this critical time, there is no other person more qualified to govern our state than him.
“There is no doubt that his second tenure will be prosperous and filled with unprecedented growth.”
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain added that all, irrespective of political party and religious affiliation, must unite behind Makinde in the interest of all.
