”Earlier today, I was at the Nigerian High Commission in London as part of the delegation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila. We were hosted by Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola.

“Apart from being the protocol to visit the High Commission as part of our working visit to the UK, we used the opportunity to discuss pertinent issues affecting the Commission. One major issue is FUNDING as no funds were appropriated to them for CAPITAL expenditure in the 2022 budget. We traced why this happened and what can be done to correct the anomaly.

“I questioned Mr Ambassador on issues from passport application to travel certificates and I was impressed with the progress made which is in contrast to what we witnessed in the past. No wonder we no longer hear of delayed passport application in London.”
