A governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan, has resigned from his position as Commissioner of Health in Oyo State.
Adeduntan’s resignation followed his decision to contest the forthcoming governorship primary of the APC in the state.
It would be recalled that the governorship aspirant had recently obtained and submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest in the coming APC primary.
With the purchase and submission of his nomination forms, the number of aspirants jostling to succeed outgoing governor Abiola Ajimobi has increased to 8.
A statement from his media office said Adeduntan, having served meritoriously in his capacity as commissioner of health, resigned voluntarily to pursue his gubernatorial ambition with all the seriousness it deserves.
OYO INSIGHT had reported how Ajimobi had directed all political appointees, who are aspirants for various political positions to resign from their current offices.
