• Calls For Equity, Fairness In Zoning Of Party Excos
As the state congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC, draw nearer, some former lawmakers who belong to the progressive folds, have thrown their weights behind former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala as the overall leader of the party in the state.
The former parliamentarians who served between 1991 to 2019, during a solidarity visit to the Awosika residence of the Ogbomoso-born politician on Tuesday, urged Oyo APC Elders’ Advisory Council and the seven zonal leaders of the party to ensure equity, fairness and justice on their zoning decisions ahead of the state congress.
Chairman of the ex-lawmakers, Hon. Ibrahim Bolomope said, “the former Oyo State Progressive Parliamentarians who served between 1991 to 2019 and still within the progressive party recognise Your Excellency as the undisputed leader of APC in Oyo State”.
“As at today, Your Excellency is the only former governor in Oyo State APC. Therefore you remain our father and party leader. We are here to pass vote of confidence on your leadership of the party”.
The former lawmakers who took turn to speak, pledged their support for Alao-Akala.
Alao-Akala appreciated the visit of the ex lawmakers and assured that the Elders’ Advisory Council would work together with the zonal leaders of the party in order to come up with all-inclusive and acceptable zoning formula for the Saturday state congress of the party.
The former lawmakers who paid the visit included Hon. Ibrahim Bolomope (Chairman), Hon. Alli Akinola (Secretary), Hon. John Olaleru (P.R.O), Hon. Adigun Hammed, Hon. Oyatokun, Hon. Ramota Okemakinde, Hon. Oyebamji, Hon. D.A Lawal, Hon. Amad, Hon. Muhydeen, Hon. Salaudeen Amoo, Hon. Tissue Azeez and Hon. Fajimi Sakirulah.
