Indigenes of Ibarapaland have lauded the screenjng exercise conducted for for aspirants for the position of the Rector at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology.
The indigenes, under the aegis of the Central Council of Ibarapa Indigenes, in a statement on Monday morning, expressed satisfactory over the level of fairness in the selection process so far.
The statement read: “We in the Council of Ibarapa Indigenes (CII), wishes to use this medium to appreciate the symbolic gesture of fairness, sincerity, justice, integrity and transparency, in their decisions
during the screening exercise for the prospective applicants into the post of Rector of
OYSCATECH, Igbo-Ora. We had (earlier ) in a letter dated 27th January, 2021 throw our weight
behind the governing council, by assuring the general public that we have confidence in the them.
We also appealed to his Excellency Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, to help us sustain the
pride of integrity, fairness and effectiveness (which his administration is known for) through the
delegated assignment given to the council.
We will like to exonerate the apparent gesture of truthfulness, fairness, equal justice, unbiased
and sustenance of integrity, as demonstrated by Professor Lateef Sanni’s led OYSCATECH
governing council during the screening. We have no doubt once again in the caliber of Professor
Sanni and his team, on the successful delivery of this herculean task given to them by the
governor. For a man (who is an astute and high-profile academic icon) to be overseeing a
mandate like this, we believe the governing council will give us the best of the best we have ever
seen in the history of stewardship of the institution. Without mincing words, we are optimistic
that the landmarks being laid by Professor Sanni and the rest of his team will add feathers as we
eventually arrive at the emergence of the new rector of OYSCATECH Igbo-Ora.
“This letter will be incomplete if we fail to acknowledge and appreciate the flexible gesture of
openness, transparency, sportsmanship, accountability and professionalism demonstrated by the
Honorable commissioner for Education, science and Technology, Mr Olasunkanmi Olaleye
during the process as highly commendable. We thank him for sustaining the ethics and doctrines
of meritorious service to humanity, which Governor Seyi Makinde has always been preaching
and implementing into his governance styles. We thank you for giving the OYSCATECH
governing board an enabling environment, to sensitively rocketeer the selection process right
from day one. We wish you all the best, and always shall we be proud of you.
“To our distinguished governor Seyi Makinde, we thank you for hearkening to our voices, and for
your undeniably superb, passionate, trust and confidence in the governing council of
OYSCATECH and the rest of governing boards across our state owned institutions. We thank
you for making us proud always, and we vow to remain an evangelist of the good work you are
doing to take Oyo state to unimaginably greater heights. God bless you Sir!!!
“While we await the final and official announcement of the next rector of OYSCATECH IgboOra, we are optimistic of a new dawn, and versatile transformations in the institution, through the collective decision of the council and our dearest executive governor.”
