Agbaje, who was one of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirants in the 2019 election, noted that Nigeria will emerge from the present challenges stronger and more resilient than ever only if we are united.

He contended that “the path of hatred and distrust leadto hostility and destruction but rather we should tread the path of peace and prosperity as we continue to uphold and cherish our unity.”

“This,” according to him, “has become very imperative so that sacrifices made by our founding fathers, great leaders and past heroes who came together to fight for the country’s independence will not be in vain. Our Diamond Independence Anniversary ordinarily would have called for celebrations despite all our challenges and tribulations but we are all cognizance of the present deadly virus which has disrupted world activities and taken a huge toll. It is worthy to observe that our government has responded effectively to pandemic thereby saving lives of several Nigerians.”

Agbaje used the occasion to call on the federal government to promptly implement the lofty programmes it has designed to cushion the effects of the covid-19 pandemic to alleviate the sufferings of the majority of Nigerians
