Omituntun Group Empowers Oyo Victims Of Lebanon Human Trafficking

Presents Awards to State Officials
A sociopolitical and interest group, Omituntun Initiative in the Diaspora (OID), again, has supported the Oyo State government with the sum of one million naira (N1,000,000.00) in creating an empowerment programme to reintegrate citizens of Oyo State that were victims of human trafficking rescued from Lebanon recently.
The National Coordinator, Professor Olufemi Saibu, on behalf of the group presented the cheque to the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Disapora Affairs, Honourable Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, at the Governors’ Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Professor Saibu noted that the motive behind the donation was to set up an empowerment programme to reintegrate the victims of human trafficking into the community through vocational training courses.
He affirmed OID’s readiness and willingness to continue to support the visionary and excellent works of Governor Seyi Makinde in catering for the welfare of its citizens.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff to the Oyo Government, Chief Bisi Ilaka commended the gesture of the group and noted that the effort was recognised and highly appreciated my the state government.
The Oyo State OID  Coordinator, Dr. Aaron Ogundiwin, also commended the exceptional leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde administration for his good performance in moving the State forward following the footsteps of the Pacesetter foundering fathers.
He noted that the laudable policies of Gov. Makinde led administration has treated the citizens of Oyo State to numerous dividends of democracy that meet both the immediate and future needs.
Also, Mrs Funke Mosebolatan, who presented OID excellence award to Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun in recognition as Oyo first female SSG to be appointed under Governor Makinde, remarked that the leadership style of Makinde is pragmatic, gender neutral and worthy of emulation. The award was received on her behalf by the Executive Adviser to the Governor on Agribusiness, Dr Debo Akande.
Mrs Yemisi Ologunja, on behalf of the the group presented a recognition award to the SSA on Disapora Affairs, Honourble Sarumi-Aliyu, just as she lauded the efforts of Governor Makinde in safeguarding the rights of female citizens as well as combating frequent rape cases, sexual abuse, domestic violence and child-labour abuse, among others by commissioning Oyo State Family Court to trial and prosecute perpetrators.
Mr Kazeem Bolarinwa also received OID Award in recognition of his appointment as the Special Adviser on Youths and Sports, which was presented by Mr Ayomide Ogundeji.
