The daughter of the Strongman of Ibadan politics, Late Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, Hajarat Adetola Adedibu, has urged the youths in the state to make the best of the opportunities being given to them under the Engr, Seyi Makinde led administration.
This advice was contained in a birthday message sent to newsmen by Hajarat who is the Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor, Abuja Liaison Office.
Strengthening her message with Grant Searchfield’s quote ‘a successful life is not easy, it is built on strong quality, sacrifice, loyalty and integrity’, the governor’s aide posited that the courage and hard work Governor Makinde has put into the governance in the past one year since he assumed office will stand him out when talking about history of governance in the country in the nearest future.
Expressing her opinions about the rare opportunities given to the youths of the state in terms of political appointments by Governor Makinde, the S.A remarked that “We youths have now been given opportunities to display our administrative skills and to serve our state which is the best thing any leader can give. We need to know that whatever we do now will go a long way in determining what the future will be for us. We need to make our own contributions regardless of our backgrounds”.
She added by urging the youths to jettison the incessant complaints which according to her was what characterized the past but instead should make the best use of the opportunities given with a view to writing the wrongs of the past and consequently create a better future.
Adetola concluded her statement by reminding the youths that there will always be distractions in the course of their goal attainment but she quickly added that through diligence, focus and prayers posterity will judge them right.
